This past weekend I attended the Charleston Food & Wine Festival. What an amazing event it was!
Charleston is our low country neighbor and a very charming city, full of southern charm. Savannah is lucky to have “her” as a neighbor!
The theme of the festival seemed to be local & fresh! All of the foods served seemed to stick to that theme. As a nutritional coach who encourages her clients to eat what’s in season and available locally, I was impressed.
Over and over I heard from chefs, farmers, vendors, and festival go-ers alike these words:
- organic
- sustainable
- local
- heirloom
- HEALTHY
- delicious!!!!
- Local veggie spring rolls

I even got to taste a bunch of these amazing chefs’ recipes, in between volunteering, taking pictures of food, and networking with food professionals on a healthier stance for feeding the Low country. Everything was delicious.
I’ll let my pictures tell the story…

A special thank-you to my amazing host, Scott. My best friend from childhood-now!
He is responsible for making me fall in love with SAVANNAH back in 2000-ish, when he was attending SCAD for Architecture school.
Thank you Charleston for letting me volunteer and rub elbows with the South’s best and brightest stars in food. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I was glad to see this site in the picture below on Sunday, leading me back to Savannah to continue my mission to bring Wellness to our great southern city!
